MALAWI PARTNERSHIP NETWORK

PC(USA) is a Partner in Mission with the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) in Malawi.

The Malawi Mission Network page: http://www.malawinetwork.org

Eastern Oklahoma Presbytery has been in partnership with the Synod of Livingstonia (Church of Central Africa Presbyterian) since 1997. This partnership is sustained through diligent prayer and yearly in-person visits. Each year, EOP and the Synod of Livingstonia (CCAP) prepare to send or receive a delegation from partner churches. These trips include conversations around our mutual partnership, sharing culture, providing opportunities for preaching and faith development, and a mutual sharing of joys and struggles. Whether we send or receive a delegation, we always develop a deeper understanding of our global God!

“If someone’s stomach is growling too loudly, they cannot hear the gospel you are trying to preach.”

– Rev. Vincent Kalua, Director of Education - Synod of Livingstonia

In the third poorest country in the world, with a population of 18 million people (80% of whom live below the poverty line), the church in Malawi has listened to the needs of the people and responded accordingly: with medical clinics and hospitals, feeding programs, educational institutions,  women’s empowerment, youth job skills, election monitoring, sustainable farming practices, radio broadcasting, and more! We can learn much from our partners in Malawi.

EOP and the Synod of Livingstonia (CCAP) have identified a few areas of focus for continued partnership:

  • Evangelism

  • Technical Training for Youth

  • Medical

  • Education

THANK YOU to everyone who helped raised money for Marion Medical Mission to build shallow wells in Malawi. Our presbytery-wide goal was to raise enough money to build 60 wells in Malawi and we raised enough for 93 wells! Your love and support for God’s people across the world is incredible! Thanks to your help, these wells will free girls from the burden of carrying water and allow them to go to school. Clean water helps to lessen disease. Thousands of people will experience the love of Jesus Christ through the gift of clean water. Thank you!
